About Us

WBO-PGC exists to educate, support and empower women business owners whose business serves Prince George's County, Maryland.

Since our inception in 1986, WBO has successfully supported business owners by providing the necessary tools for members to establish and cultivate their businesses into flourishing community entities.

WBO membership provides multiple opportunities to exchange ideas, information and inspiration -three tools necessary for entrepreneurial success.

  • The objectives of the WBO-PGC are to:
  •  Provide a support network for women who own and operate businesses through membership services and meetings that encourage professional growth, development and leadership.
  • Provide a community voice for women who own businesses.
  •  Foster the economic stability of businesses owned by women.
  •  Improve the climate for entrepreneurship and small or growing businesses at the local and state levels through participation in the public policy-making process.
  •  Encourage business ownership by women.

Grant Program

The WBO Business Grant Program is a program series designed to provide training, education, support, mentorship and guidance to WBO members who have expressed an interest in further developing their businesses and are committed to the WBO mission.

The WBO Grant program is open to WBO members only and will officially begin at our February 16th monthly meeting.   Originally planned to kick off last month, we have revamped the program in order to improve the overall benefit.  Be sure to attend to get the details and rules on how you can apply, compete and be selected as a WBO grant recipient at our WBO Awards Gala entitled, "Women Business Owners: Empowered to Action and Winning the Race!"
